Many of the economic development strategies mentioned in Legacy have worked in spite of the recent Great Recession. Forsyth County and its municipalities have supported the efforts of the primary organizations that are actively involved in community business growth including: Winston-Salem Business, Inc., the Winston-Salem Chamber of Commerce and the Winston-Salem Alliance. These organizations have been successful in attracting and retaining major companies in our county such as Dell, Caterpillar, Pepsi, US Airways and Wachovia/Wells Fargo.
